The Our Lady of Mount Carmel Athletic Association is a parish and community based organization providing athletic opportunities for youth ages 3-15. Our association offers programs that compete both in the Arch-diocese of Baltimore CYO leagues, local recreation council leagues and tournaments as well as in-house programs. The association offers the following sports: fall outdoor soccer, fall cheerleading, winter indoor soccer (players need to have played fall outdoor) winter basketball and winter flag football. All of our coaches are STAND certified by the arch-diocese, and our program provides an opportunity for high school aged young adults to return to the program as junior coaches.

Fall Outdoor Soccer
The association offers soccer for boys and girls from 3-15 years old. Our youngest age group, Under 5 practices once a week and plays a non-competitive game on Saturday’s. This is a co-ed in-house program. Our U7 is a co-ed in-house program that practices once a week and plays small sided games on Saturday’s. U7 players have the option to play in a CYO league in addition to playing in-house. Our U8-U14 programs compete either in the CYO or CMSA league on the weekend. Each team will typically practice twice a week beginning August 1st with games beginning around Labor Day. Boys typically play on Saturday’s, and the girl’s on Sunday. Teams will practice at OLMC, OLQP, Mars Estates ES or Celmer Field. Each team is eligible to compete in one tournament paid for by the association. The season ends in mid-November. Registration occurs in the spring.

Fall Chearleading
Our Lady of Mount Carmel boasts one of the few if not only cheer squads in the arch-diocese. The cheer squad is for girls in grades K-5, and is a sidelines only team. The team begins practicing twice a week in early August, and will cheer one game a weekend. During the course of the season, the cheer team will cheer at least once for every team, boys and girls, U5-U14. Registration occurs in the spring.
Winter Indoor Soccer
Designed primarily for our outdoor teams to stay together, indoor soccer is a winter sport running from December 1st to April 1st. Our teams compete at local facilities, most typically FreeState on Saturday’s. Players from our fall outdoor program have first opportunity to register. Registration occurs in the fall.
Winter Basketball
The association has sponsored one boy’s and one girl’s team in the CYO league. Teams play on Saturday at a local parish. The team will typically practice on Sunday’s beginning in November, and then various days during the season. The teams have typically been in the 9-10 year old range. Games begin in December and run until March.

Flag Football
Flag Football is a minimal contact game with the excitement of football without the need for equipment. Boys and girls of all skill levels can play and have fun while learning about the game of football. We are planning to continue our flag football league this winter at the Our Lady Queen of Peace campus on Sunday afternoons with practices beginning in November and the season ending in late February. We are accepting registrations from 5th through 8th graders who want to come out and play. The number and makeup of teams will be driven by the registrations received. Registration occurs in the fall.
