Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School Teacher Awarded

BALTIMORE, MD, April 9, 2008 - Missy Lawrence, a theology teacher and youth minister who is in her 11th year at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, has been awarded the very prestigious For God and Youth Award. Mrs. Lawrence will receive the award on Thursday, April 24th by the Archdiocese of Baltimore at St. John's in Westminster for the Annual Youth and Young Adult Ministry dinner. She has truly spent her life advocating for youth. Her encouragement of them to grow in faith, service, and leadership has been a great gift to the students and to the school. Congratulations!


Our Lady of Mt. Carmel High School Travels to Ohio for National Catholic Youth Conference

BALTIMORE, MD, November 27, 2007 - More than 400 young people from the Archdiocese of Baltimore attended the National Catholic Youth Conference held in Columbus, Ohio from November 8-11. Twenty representatives from Mt. Carmel Youth & Campus Ministry spent more than a year raising funds in preparation to attend this annual event. This year's theme was "Discover the Way!" The journey began from Baltimore, stopping in Cumberland, Maryland for Mass at Bishop Walsh High School with their delegation. Missy Lawrence, Mt. Carmel's Campus Minister said "It is an incredibly moving sight to see 25,000 young Catholics affirming their faith. It gives us hope for now and the future."

OLMC 4th Grade Teacher and Local Resident Writes Children's Book

Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a Roman Catholic co-educational parish school and a member of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel High School has an enrollment of 275 students, and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Elementary School has an enrollment of 400 students. The schools are located in southeastern Baltimore County, Maryland.
