The Our Lady of Mount Carmel Athletic Association is a parish and community based organization providing athletic opportunities for children ages 4-15. Our association offers programs that compete both in the Archdiocese of Baltimore CYO leagues, local recreation council leagues and tournaments as well as in-house programs. The association offers the following sports: fall outdoor soccer, fall cheerleading, and winter indoor soccer (players need to have played fall outdoor). All of our coaches are STAND certified by the archdiocese, and our program provides an opportunity for high school aged young adults to return to the program as junior coaches.
In order to contact someone in the athletic association, please contact the parish moderator, and he will either contact you or forward your concern to the appropriate chair:
Fall Outdoor Soccer
The association offers soccer for boys and girls from 4-15 years old. Our youngest age group, Under 6, practices once a week and plays a non-competitive game on Saturday’s. This is a co-ed in-house program. Our U8-U14 programs compete either in the CYO or CMSA league on the weekend.
Each team will typically practice twice a week beginning August 1st with games beginning around Labor Day. Boys typically play on Saturday, and the girls on Sunday. Teams will practice at OLMC, OLQP, or Mars Estates ES. Each team is eligible to compete in one tournament paid for by the association. The season ends in mid-November. Registration occurs in the spring.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel boasts one of the few if not the only cheer squads in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The cheer squad is for girls in grades K-5, and is a sidelines only team. The team begins practicing twice a week in early August, and will cheer one game a weekend. During the course of the season, the cheer team will cheer at least once for every team, boys and girls, U5-U14. Registration occurs in the spring.
Winter Indoor Soccer
Designed primarily for our outdoor teams to stay together, indoor soccer is a winter sport running from December 1st to April 1st. Our teams compete at local facilities, most typically FreeState on Saturday’. Players from our fall outdoor program have first opportunity to register. Registration occurs in the fall.
