Hall of Fame Criteria

Those alumni that are inducted into the Hall of fame will be recognized in the following manner:

  1. There will be an assembly held in front of the entire student body in the middle of March.  For this school year the date would be March 1st.
  2. A plaque will hang outside the gym listing all of the members and the sports they participated in.
  3. The recipient will receive a plaque for their own use.
  4. A banner will hang in the gym listing all of the member names.

The criteria used to determine which athletes are eligible for the Hall of Fame are:

  1. Must be a graduate of Our Lady of Mount Carmel HS.
  2. Must have been graduated for at least five years.
  3. Must have played at least two years of varsity athletics.
  4. Must have achieved one of the following awards during their career:
  5. All Metro or All City/County
  6. Team Most Valuable Player or Similar award
  7. Recognized School Community Award (C. Markland Kelly, Gus Smith Award, Michelle Bevans, Scholar Athlete) (McCormack Unsung Hero, Catholic Review Awards)  
  8. Recognized Community Award (McCormack Unsung Hero, Catholic Review Awards)  
  9. All Conference (All American/Shining Star for Cheerleading)
  10. Graduated as the schools all time leader in a major statistical category.

The criteria used to determine which coaches are eligible for the Hall of Fame:

  1. Must have coached at Our Lady of Mount Carmel for at least five years.
  2. Must have coached at least three of those years at the varsity level.
  3. The coach must have been a part of a championship season.

Members of the Hall of fame will be selected by a committee made up of the following people:

  1. The Pastor   
  2. The Principal
  3. The Athletic Director
  4. Senior Head Coach who is not the Athletic Director
  5. Alumni chosen by the Principal.
