Children's Center
Welcome to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School
Whether you are a parent searching for a great educational opportunity for your child, a current family seeking information, an alumni wishing to re-connect with friends, or an interested neighbor surfing the web, we hope that this site answers your questions and helps you get to know about the many educational opportunities available at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School!
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School provides programs which serve children from six weeks old to grade twelve! Each segment of the program focuses on the particular developmental needs of that age child and provides a challenging academic experience in an atmosphere that allows faith, good character, and social skills to grow as well. The Caring Place Pre-School and Early Childhood Center, located on the Our Lady Queen of Peace campus, serves children from six weeks to four years old providing full time child care as well as pre-school for threes and fours. Our Lower and Upper School, both on the campus of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, serves kindergarten through fifth grade students and sixth through twelfth grade students respectively. At every level we are blessed with the winning combination of great students, supportive parents, caring and competent faculty and dedicated administrators. Young people thrive and achieve success! Each year 95% of our graduates move on to college with confidence, a sense of service, strong academic skills, and the belief that they can and should make a positive difference in the world.
The educational outreach at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel began in 1927 with a four room elementary school. As the years passed and enrollment grew, new wings were added to that small structure. In 1959, a new high school was built on the campus serving the needs not only of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel but also many students in neighboring parishes as well. Over the years the school has grown and changed with the needs of the times. In 2010, the elementary and high school programs were formally joined into one Pre-K-12 school with a new administrative structure, the President/Principal model.
Over the years, blackboards and chalk have been replaced by computers and I pads, athletic opportunities have been expanded by the addition of many teams for both men and women at the middle and high school levels, and student interests have changed with the times. Some important things, however, never change! Students continue to use their gifts and talents to achieve academic success. Our school community values the presence of every student. Faculty and staff are committed to providing academic expertise and teaching information that will result in life long learning. Beyond academics, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel continues to take seriously our mission to graduate young people who are invigorated with faith, infused with knowledge, and inspired to serve!
We welcome you to learn about our community. Feel free to make the appropriate contacts for admissions, information, and to have questions answered. We are always elated to share the great news about Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School!
Sincerely,
Kathleen Sipes
