Academics

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Lower School provides educational opportunities for children in grades pre-k-3 through five.  Our curriculum meets the requirements set forth by the Department of Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Baltimore as published in the Elementary Course of Study, the Maryland State Department of Education, and the National Councils for Teachers of Science, Mathematics, and Social Studies.

Teachers and administrators meet regularly to develop specific curriculum area goals that will lead to student achievement as measured by standardized testing and teacher-administered assessments.  The faculty works both individually and in curriculum mapping teams to map each area of the curriculum, participate in peer mapping review and develop essential maps that will meet student and curriculum needs and curriculum standards.

Parents are informed of student progress through interim reports, progress reports, Power School, and parent conferences.
