Early Childhood - Pre-K 3, Pre-K 4 and Kindergarten

Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s Caring Place Pre-K and kindergartens provide an opportunity for children to develop spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically within the nurturing and loving environment of a Catholic school. Religion, mathematics, language arts, science, social studies, art, and music are integrated. Thematic units encourage creativity, exploration and cooperation.

Each Early Childhood teacher has a full-time teaching assistant. All students entering kindergarten are assessed by means of the Brigance Screening. Kindergarten instruction focuses on reading readiness skills, phonetic awareness, letter-sound recognition, sight word recognition, number sense, sequencing, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
