Vision
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School will continue to serve our community of learners by providing them with Gospel-centered education. Such education will be supported by the integration of varied resources, enabling students to become technologically literate. Consequently, we envision our students as problem-solvers, decision-makers, and global citizens in an ever-changing world.
Mission
The mission of the Technology Committee is to review and update the technology plan and provide leadership in its implementation. This plan integrates technology into all aspects of the learning environment and necessitates a cooperative effort among the members of the entire school community.
Goals
Students will:
- access primary source information
- share through cooperative learning
- express knowledge through presentations
- appreciate global citizenship
- utilize critical thinking/problem-solving skills
- develop an ethical code regarding technology
- abide by the Archdiocesan Acceptable Use Policy
- take initiative in the use of technology
- advocate social justice
- exhibit mastery of curricular area content
- realize the interconnectedness of disciplines
- practice safe and age appropriate internet access that reflected in the school’s Internet Safety Policy
Teachers will:
- redefine their roles to be facilitators, coaches, and co-learners
- access primary source information to enhance the curriculum
- utilize multi-media strategies
- vary methods to include available technology
- increase student-centered, active learning
- provide interdisciplinary learning opportunities
- act as resources to others on campus
- continue with personal and professional growth
- utilize available technology
- integrate technology into curriculum areas
- communicate with community members through technology

- participate in the Mt. Carmel Technology Certification Program

Assessment
Students are assessed in individual classes through successful completion of curricular related projects which depend on technology integration. Remediation is provided as needed. Faculty are required to have 1 annual technology related goal for professional development – Yearly evaluation with administration includes an assessment of technology integration in the classroom.
