Clubs are offered every two weeks on a rotating basis within the school schedule.  One hundred percent of Mt. Carmel students participate in clubs.  This year, the following club choices were offered to students:

The High School Clubs

Chess Club

The Chess Club welcomes both beginning and experienced players to participate in friendly competition.  Club members gain skills and develop friendships as they learn chess strategies and participate in tournaments.

Landscaping Club

The Landscaping Club takes care of the gardens around the school.  Members are responsible for planting, weeding, and designing gardens which enhance the beauty of our campus.  Members also participate in activities to generate funds for new additions to the gardens.

Art Service Club

The Art Service Club benefits from the artistic talents of the club members who make posters, create bulletin boards, and decorate to make Mt. Carmel a more visual and beautiful place.

Respect Life

The Respect Life Club members participate in the March for Life in Washington D.C. and the Walk for Autism at Towson University.  They sponsor a school-wide spiritual adoption program for babies at risk of abortion and host a baby shower for women in need.  In addition, the members provide both support and prayer for students who are experiencing grief or loss.

Spirit Club

The Spirit Club generates school spirit by promoting school events such as sports competitions, clubs, and special events.  The club also honors senior athletes and creates visuals and announcements to create a positive community at Mt. Carmel.

Chorus Club

The Chorus Club provides an opportunity to sing for students who are not able to fit a chorus class into their schedule.  Students in this club love to sing, sing, sing!

Environmental Club

Students in the Environmental Club plan school wide events and provide information to raise awareness of environmental issues especially those affecting the Chesapeake Bay.  The members engage in conservation efforts on campus and beyond.

Athletic Training Club

The members of this club learn basic care for athletic injuries. They assist the school Athletic Trainer with practices and after school events for which they earn service hours.  This club provides a great opportunity for those interested in careers in sports medicine, nursing, and health care.

Dance and Social Dance Club

This club explores the discipline of jazz dance and technique at both the beginning and intermediate levels.  It is a club that is fun for those who love to move!

Scrapbooking

The Scrapbooking Club teaches scrap booking tips and techniques.  Students are able to work on individual projects, share ideas with one another, and make suggestions for improving projects.

Games Club

Students in this club relax and play board and card games.  Friendly competitions are encouraged.

Ultimate Frisbee

This club boasts of being a “game of champions!” The club promotes unity, sportsmanship, and awesomeness.   It is great fun for those who like high levels of activity!

Technology Club

The Technology Club explores gamin and multi-media.  Each year the goals of the club are generated by the members based on their interests.

Classic Film Club

The Classic Film Club watches, analyzes and learns about the techniques that result in films being considered great!

Adventure Club

This club meets outside of the clubs cycle and is open to all students.  The club plans and participates in hikes, biking trips and other fun but strenuous outdoor activities.

Campus Ministry

Campus Ministry projects are open to all students and happen outside the clubs cycle.  Activities include service projects, planning prayer services and retreats, and providing prayerful and faith -filled activities for the student community.
