Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Many of you are aware that the Bishops of the United States voted to accept a new English translation for the Mass. Currently, there are more questions than there are answers. While they voted to accept a translation that is a more accurate translation of the Latin text, they also asked for approximately 65 exemptions. Their request for exemptions will go back to Rome for further discussion. Whatever the result of those discussions may be, we know that there will be significant changes in our Mass prayers. There have been many estimates about a time frame for the new translation. They apparently cover a range of 6 months to 3 years. As Fr. Austin and I become aware of the definitive changes and time frames, we will share them with you. Until then, pray that our Bishops will be guided by the Holy Spirit and that Catholics throughout the United States will be cooperative with the Bishops and our Holy Father.
