Religious Education at Mount Carmel

Religious Education at Mount Carmel School

All students at Our Lady of Mount Carmel take theology classes every year. In grade nine, students study Catholicism and Hebrew Scriptures. In grade ten, students study the New Testament and Church History. In grade eleven, students study Morality and Social Justice. In grade twelve, all students study Christian Lifestyles and then select either Jesus in the Media or a World religions class.

ACRE Testing

As dictated by the Archdiocese of Baltimore, all students in grades eight, nine and twelve participate in the ACRE Assessment which attempts to measure their achievement in knowledge of faith.

Sacramental Preparation & Family Faith Formation

Our Lady of Mount Carmel School invites students to receive Sacramental Preparation. The ordinary setting for both Faith Formation and Sacramental Preparation—including the reception of the sacraments—is within one’s parish community. We understand that every family and child's faith journey is personal. If you would like to receive Sacramental Preparation at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish and, in a personal way, share about your child's path toward the Sacraments, you are warmly invited to contact:
