Heather Rucci Hired as Women's Soccer Head Coach

Essex, MD - Our Lady of Mount Carmel School is excited to announce the appointment of Heather Rucci as Head Varsity Women’s Soccer Coach. 

Heather began her coaching career with Pipeline Soccer Club after representing the University of Delaware Division I soccer team for four years. Coach Rucci has deep ties to the Mount Carmel community as she graduated from the middle school in 2011. After OLMC, Heather attended the Institute of Notre Dame where she was a 4 year starter, captain, and MVP her Senior year. Currently, she works as the Director of Executive Recruiting at Creative Financial Staffing in Baltimore. 

President Dr. Mindi Imes believes “Coach Rucci is an outstanding addition to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. As a coach and role model, she will play an important part in shaping our young women—instilling confidence, character, and the values that will serve them both on and off the field.  We are happy she is coming home to our school community and an athletic department filled with passionate leaders dedicated to guiding young people to discover and achieve their full potential.”

Coach Rucci shared, “I’m thrilled for the opportunity to serve as the Varsity Women’s Soccer Coach at OLMC—a place where I received most of my early education and that shaped much of my childhood. I am eager to mentor young women the way I wish I had been guided at times, and to share the experience I’ve gained from top coaches across the state and country, as well as hands-on experience at local, regional, national camps, and Division 1 levels. That said, I graduated in 2019 from the University of Delaware where I received my undergrad in Exercise Science."

Athletic Director Pat Healey shares this excitement, commenting, "We are pleased to announce Heather Rucci as the leader of our Girls Soccer Program. Her depth of experience and commitment to student development will guide our athletes both on and off the soccer field. Heather brings a strong background in player development, team leadership, and fostering a positive, competitive culture. We are confident that her passion for the game and dedication to our student-athletes will help elevate our program to new heights. Welcome back Heather!" 

Coach Rucci  looks to rebuild a strong tradition of Women's Soccer at Mount Carmel where the Cougars have won 3 Conference Championships, including back to back in 2012 & 2013.
